Dr. Kristoff M. Ritlewski, born 1978 in Hamburg, is the Counsel of the Center for Transnational IP, Media and Technology Law and Policy.

He completed his legal studies in Konstanz and Hamburg, passing the state examinations in 2005 and 2010. In 2005 he obtained an LL.M. degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law and in 2008 he acquired his doctorate ("Pluralistic Policies in Broadcasting Regulations") from University of Mainz. In his main affiliation with Hertin & Partner, Ritlewski regularly advises clients on trademark and unfair competition matters as well as art and copyright law. Since 2009, he is the Counsel of the "IP and Media Law Initiative" at Bucerius Law School where he accounts for the DLA Piper IP Lecture Series.

He is member of the expert commission "Hamburger Innovationswerkstatt" of Hans Bredow Institute for Media, Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, Bucerius Law School, University of Hamburg and Hamburg Media School. Ritlewski has written several publications on intellectual property law and policy, media regulation and international arbitration.
