Background

The lecture related to a practitioner's perspective on privacy and data protection from a U.S. and EU perspective. Posedel discussed the foundations of U.S. privacy law, as well as the various approaches taken with legislative examples; he also touched on PRISM, FISA and the PATRIOT Act. Voigt spoke on the same issues but from an EU/German perspective, as well as Germany's response to the national security issues.
